KMT Today
KMT has covered a tremendous distance from a team of enthusiasts who made high-voltage car-to-car connections in 1991 to development of up-to-date automatic doors and their full-scale production.
Today, we are proud to say that we make over twenty models of accessories for passenger railway rolling stock.
From the windows of the KMT office you can see any corner of Russia, since in the last nine years all new passenger railcars and most cars undergoing major repair/renewal are outfitted with our accessories.
Advanced methods of design and calculation, CAD/CAM/CAE technologies, hi-tech equipment, and efficient interaction of all of its units enable KMT to make top class products complete with a broad range of aftersale services.
Design
Our specialists apply the PRO/Engineer designing system to styling, engineering analysis and preproduction, and use computers to perfect the kinematic movement of mechanisms, efficiently handling most complicated engineering problems.
At earlier design stages, we test serviceability of parts and subassemblies of every future product, calculating and optimizing its parameters, which results in high processibility and reliability and shorter lead time.
Prototyping
In making prototype models, we apply CAD/CAM/CAE technologies, reducing the parts manufacturing time and process engineering period, and improving the precision and quality of future products.
At this stage, we solve all process and cost management matters related to launching of a new product, debug the manufacturing process, and develop the basic rigging types.
Testing
Since the railway transport is subject to most stringent safety and reliability requirements, our products undergo comprehensive testing in factory conditions and at independent accredited test centers.
All KMT products are subjected to thorough climatic tests and to durability, strength, and vibration tests.
This is how we verify the reliability of all components we develop, and compliance with the customer's engineering requirements.
Full-scale manufacturing application
The implemented basic high-productivity processes enable fast and efficient switchover of our production facilities to manufacturing of new products:
- application of CAD/CAM/CAE technologies;
- replacement of universal machine tools with processing centers and NC machines;
- application of laser technologies;
- high-speed processing;
